Mini Mixed Fleet
Round One
21st March 2015

A great days racing with a mixed bag of boats, most opted for the Wee Nip, only one RG65 which was quite a surprise, and two Micro 540's.
Back from his bout of flu Paul Risdale (54, Pig's Nose) took the honours and belatedly started the defense of his Martin Dale Cup title, however he didn't have it all his own way but being there or there abouts was enough when combined with his five race wins. Second placed man Mike Ewart (36, Ardbeg) had four wins however he wasn't quite as consistant as Paul and was pipped by just 5 points.
Third and fourth places were even closer with Geoff Raygada (57, Black Prince) just 3 points behind Mike and 2 ahead of Peter Jackson (30, Puma), these four skippers traded places all event and the first of the Micro 540's Peter Shepherd (165, Abracadabra) kept popping up and being the fly in the ointment amongst these four he even managed one race victory.
Norman Hardy showed at the front in some of the races only to lose out, usually around the "corner of doom" where the course setter Peter Jackson had cunningly placed the most used (and abused) mark of the day!
Tim Leese (54, Pinwinnie) and newcomer Derek Lane (16, Bowmore) had their own private battle with Tim eventually winning out, I suspect Derek went home with his head spinning from all the good advice he received!
