Handicap Racing - How it works
The handicap system is based upon a traffic light system of colours in the following order Red, Yellow, Green and Scratch (no colour).
The Red start is after 1 min, the Yellow 1 minute later, the Green 40 seconds later and the Scratch 20 seconds after that.
For the first race everyone starts on Red, the winner is promoted to Yellow and so starts the second race one minute after everyone else. The racing continues with each winning skipper being promoted one colour after each race.
If only one skipper is left for the Red start he becomes "the Hare", if he wins a race, instead of being promoted all the other skippers are demoted one colour.
