Introduction
Abington Park Model Yacht Club uses the Bassett Lowke model boating lake within Abington Park and is affiliated to Hollowell Sailing Club this give us two distinct types of venues, a city centre Model Boating lake, small and intimate along side the suberb facillities that being associated with Hollowell Saing Club affords us
The Club is administered by racing model yacht enthusiasts and currently meets on a weekly basis on Tuesday afternoons at Hollowell. |

Abington Park boating lake is most suitable for smaller yachts and we currently run racing series for two of these types, namely the Footy and Wee Nips. If you participate in one of these race meetings expect to pay a small entry fee to cover the cost of prizes at the end of the season. On the infrequent weekends when we don't have the class race series and on the first Sunday of the month we run a mixed fleet handicap race meeting which is very suitable for beginners to model yacht racing, as the name suggests it doesn't matter what type of radio model yacht you bring to the mixed fleet races, however please be aware that the boating lake in Abington Park can only cater for models with a keel no longer than 11" (270mm).
Anyone interested in participating in this form of modelling is most welcome to come along whether they currently have a model yacht or not.
