Mixed Fleet - 26th May 2013
Eight skippers popped in and out of the mixed fleet competition this month, the handicap system was in force however the conditions suited the Rg65's better than the rest of the fleet. We had a rare visit from Paul Strong sailing a Pal Joey (forerunner of the Wee Nip idea) who was most welcome, Andrew Sturt did very well with his Razor3 his result being affected mainly by having to leave early to go and sail in a 12 hour race.
Dave Lissaman had a new hull on the water, which went well, I think Dave must build something near a hull a week. Trevor Thomas joined us with a Footy, starting the day sailing his Awk and finishing up with a hard chined Moonshadow derivative.
Tim Lees came for a little while and his Puma 305 went well whilst he had it on the water, although somewhat hampered by only having a small sail, if only I had know I could have brought him something to try.
Nigel Rudd brought his Wee Nip, Long John for it's first sail a little late in arriving due to a servo issue, he sailed it very well to some good results.
It was a most pleasant sail with plenty of time between races, although with all the coming and going throughout the event the score sheet was quite difficult to decipher. Peter Shepherd did his best to dispell the rumour that coming second in the races is the best way to win the Handicap event!
